Utunzi Animal Welfare Organization aims to sensitize society on the benefits of animal welfare, and to empower individuals to make good choices for animals on the basis of approved animal welfare standards.

Desired Impact:

  • Increase knowledge and awareness of the importance of animal welfare among key community stakeholders, including farmers and those involved in the livestock supply chain

  • Reduce use of battery cages amongst farmers

Achievements:

  • Conducted 3 workshops among stakeholders such as farmers, veterinary students, and other animal advocacy organisations to understand the landscape and perception of animal welfare before engaging farmers
